500px photowalk in Kyoto
If you are interested in Kyoto and looking for excellent photo opportunities or just want to expand on your photography skills, join us!
Check out 500px for a free account, we will share our photos there after the photowalk!
We’ll meet at the north-west entrance gate of the park surrounding the imperial palace at 10 AM (check on Google Map).
The photowalk will provide opportunities for street photography, macro fans (flowers), and general improvement of motive hunting. Many of my pictures at Streets of Kyoto are taken in that same park.
Time: April 12th from 10:00 AM
The photowalk will take about 2 hours.
Place: north-west entrance gate of the park surrounding the imperial palace
- “Imadegawa”-station (K06) via subway Karasuma-line

The photowalk is set for a maximum number of 20 people (with a little wiggle room). Please contact me to let me know if you would like to join the photowalk. You’re welcome to expand on the gear you expect to bring and what motives you like to take photos of.
If you can’t make it that day, drop me a line so we won’t wait for you too long.
What gear to bring.
For a photowalk, I recommend light gear. The distance itself is not that far, but you’re more or less 2h on your feet.
I usually like to bring my fixed 50mm lens for a walk.
Focus of the photowalk
There is no particular topic for this photowalk. Anticipated photo motives include street, macro, traditional Japanese gates, nature, etc.
